Strengths: easy to hook up; looks sleek, easy to work with printer options; quiet and solid running. on "best photo" and premium glossy paper, it printed the best picture i've seen thus far
Weakness: twice it just stopped printing and ran into some "error" duirng my first week of use. i'm not sure what this is about.
i chose this printer because i wanted the best digital photos possible and a specialized printer, meaning i did not want a fax, scanner or copier builit it. It costs a lot more than most printers on the shelf. I was willing to try this and see if it met my expectations. when i printed on epson premium glossy paper under the highest setting possible, it produced a spectacular picture. twice,...
Strengths: Print quality is superb. I don't need to go to Walmart anymore for great digital prints. Prints cd's and DVD's as well.
Weakness: None experienced so far
I bought one about two years ago as I needed another printer for our companys cd's. I do about 9000 a year. Since it worked so well and I needed a faster turn around time, I bought another. I've also printed pictures on the 4 x 6 sheets of paper and quality is excellent. I put the pictures in direct sunlight and still have no major fading. I would however recommend using the EPSON high quality...
Strengths: superior quality, amazing versatility, fair speed.
Weakness: NONE!!!!
I recently purchased an epson R800, and let me say, I WAS BLOWN AWAY!! this printer did so much for the price. printed professional quality photos, cd's, mini cd's, dvd's you name it! this printer is your all in one device for all your printing needs. awesome product, highly reccomended
Strengths: Excellent color rendition
Weakness: Much difficulty feeding standard Avery note cards
The first one I purchased 2 weeks ago, died suddenly. I just setup the new one and find that it doesn't like feeding Avery Matte Ivory Embossed Note Cards - even though it did so fine last night. Now, it's a laborious process - one by one. I'm convinced that the paper feed mechanism is somewhat flawed. This is one area that is not addressed adequately in the printer reviews.
Strengths: Excellent printing quality - it`s very reliable .
Weakness: Ink costs !!!! It keeps on resetting the print settings .
Having used this printer for quite a few months , I can`t praise its photo output too highly - to my non-professional eyes its prints are uniformly excellent , and any duff results have always been due to bad settings on my part or some other cause not involving the printer . The main drawback is the ridiculous cost of the colour cartridges here in England - any American readers of this review...
Strengths: Prints beautiful images.
Weakness: Poor build quality.
This printer prints beautifully. However, it is not very reliable. I have had to have repaired mine about 3 times. It was not too bad when they did they had the exchange policy. The last time I had to send it in for repairs the parts are still on back order and it has been about 3 weeks.
Strengths: Speed
Weakness: As of now NO
It is good to buy and use. It has good speeding capacity to print the images with good quality. If we talk about its printing quality, it is good to print difficult/complex pictures.
Strengths: Ability to type on printable DVD, good quality pictures
Weakness: Expensive cartridges, running out of ink too quickly
I've been using my Epson r800 for 1.5 months mostly typing on printable DVDs. The quality of typing was pretty decent but unfortunately the typing surface was not water resistant so I had to protect my DVDs from wet fingers and liquid drops.
Strengths: great colors long photo life
Weakness: slow expensive
I bought this as a third printer -- I have a high speed b&w laser printer (the great e450dn) & a general purpose inkjet printer (the canaon ip4500) already. However, the colors for phto printing on the canon weren't quiiiite good enough. There are also concerns about the longevity of the dye based ink in the Canon. We bought this pigment-based printer, which has resolved those isssues. However,...

Epson Stylus Photo R800 Printer
Strengths: High print quality, fast for this quality, brilliant color on most paper types, best I've seen for a consumer level printer, especially on photo quality glossy paper.
Weakness: Demands to be default printer (changes itself to defualt consistantly), won't work if ANY ink is out, so must constantly have spare ink.
I have been using this printer in my genetics lab for over 2 months now and can say this is the best printer I've seen at a consumer level. The print quality of this machine is hard to beat. We print pictures of cell organelles to full people on this printer, using 2 megapixel microscope cameras up to the 13.89 megapixel Kodak DNS camera- the print quality never fails to impress. And when we use...
