I ordered this online and with the rebate it gets the price down to $0.30 per disc or less. IMHO that is dirt cheap for the quality of this media. So far I've burned about a dozen discs at ranges from 4x to 8x and have yet to burn a coaster which is about the best thing you can say for any DVD media. FYI, I'm using a LiteOn SOHW-832S DVD burner.

TopStrengths: MCC Manufactured Plextor Recommended Media
Weakness: None so far....
This Media was manufactured by MCC which is probably second best next to Taiyo Yuden (in my opinion). The Verbatim/MCC dvd media is on the recommended list for Plextor burners. Although it is 8x, I've been burning at 4x to ensure the best possible writing quality (at a reasonable time). The discs do burn at 8x. Since Taiyo Tuden does not sell its own branded discs to my knowledge, Verbatim branded discs are a good alternative. The tops are silver with space for writing with cd markers, and are labeled with the Verbatim logo. Feel more comfortable with Verbatim's extra layer on the top as opposed to those "shiny silver top" Taiyo Yuden OEM-like discs. Good quality discs for Plextor burners....well at least for mine! Plus - Burns at 12X!

The media code for the Verbatim DVD+R I purchased are all MCC. MCC product are top quality. I have burn at least Verbatim 100 DVD+R flawlessly.

Wow! Just WOW! Amazing DVD+Rs. Not a single coaster. Burns at speed easily, sometimes faster. Smooth, silky, no issues.Wow. Awesome stuff. I highly suggest picking some up if you use any sort of DVD media at all. I promise you will not be disappointed. They are worth every penny.

Weakness: No weakness at all.
Really a nice product which is very efficient and can be used in any DVD drivers. No problems are occurred during copying the data on the DVD. It can be used to keep our back-up safely. A huge amount of data can be stored and can be retrieve without any errors.

TopStrengths: AZO Metal Dye is dark, dark, dark, which means clear, crisp and solid recordings Period.
Weakness: None yet Maybe with the very newest 16X but these 8X are recording at 12 X with ease
Unfortunately with Digital Media Storage the manufacturer's barter with many factories, countries, bidding wars, and it comes down to quantity NOT quality..these discs will someday be gone for good and all new discs will lack such rich dyes. Grab these up while you can!!!!
The tests conducted on these are the VERY finest there are to date. No one else even comes close. The price is right but more importantly, the Quality is # 1

These DVDs are excellent!
I have had experience with other manufacturer's DVDs, and the consistency I find from DVD to DVD of the Verbatims is beyond expectations..
I would highly recommend these to anyone who has digital media they hope to still have 5 or 10 years down the road; I know I would pay the extra and have that peace of mind!

I highly recommend buying this Verbatim.
This Verbatim 8X DVD+R are made in Taiwan and
is MCC003. I was able to burn it at 12X with BenQ DW1620. I had 0 coaster so far.
It goes to know that this brand is a good media for the Benq 1620.
I wouldn't recommend any other off brand media to be great as this Verbatim media.
I tried the off brand 4x -R and it burns only 2x. It burns great if you have the right media with the right burner.

I just got the 100 Disc Spindle of Verbatim Blank DVDs. It is not only cheap but could be write at 8x by my poor DVD burner very stable. The audio and vedio quality are both good. I recommend it.

I trust the Verbatim discs the most of all the other media I have to burn important backups and such. They are quick - burning at 12x on my nec burner, reliable - i haven't encountered any errors or spots on the recording surface of any of the discs, and at times, cheap if you can find them on sale like they have been recently. Excellent value for this quality of media. Silver branded top is marker friendly.

TopStrengths: Though listed as x8 will burn at x12 on an NEC3520 with updated firmware.
Weakness: SPindle plastic was a bit fragile as had cracked on arrival.
This spindle of 100 8xDVD+R discs has been flawless. With my NEC 3520 with modified firmware they have been burning at x12 - with not a single coaster so far. The plastic of the spindle was slightly on the cheap side as it arrived with a crack in it (though no damage was done to the disks themselves). Overall highly recommended disks.

As a photographer, these DVD media are my best solution to store my thousands of picture per month. I was really sad when I lost tons of pictures from my hard drive before I used this approach to back up my digital pictures.
I got this together with 100 pack DVD-R from Amazon at ~31.00 each. Both are very reliable. I will definitely buy them again once I run out.
Hurry up, there is a $25.00 rebate before July!

Verbatim DVD+R 4.7GB 8X 100-Pack Spindle
Strengths: FAST write speed (up to 12X in most cases), RELIABLE burns, EXCELLENT quality, NO WASTED discs
Weakness: None so far
These discs are awesome. I have a new DVD burner that can burn these discs at 12X for most of the tasks that I need, which is primarily data backup. 12X speed will take about 6 to 7 minutes for a full burn. For video DVDs, my burner will use 8X, but the picture and sound quality are both excellent. So far, I have not wasted a single disc (a bad disc is called a "coaster" because a lot of people end up using the unburnable disc as a coaster on their coffee tables). I got these discs on sale (rebate) through buy.com, so they were inexpensive also. I highly recommend this product!
